Baker Appointed to New York City Bar Association's Senior Lawyers Committee

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jan. 24, 2012 – David R. Baker, an attorney with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, has been appointed to the Senior Lawyers Committee of the New York City Bar Association for 2012.  The mission of the Senior Lawyers Committee is to bring attention to matters of interest to older lawyers, particularly those relating to the transition from active practice to retirement from the law.  The Committee also organizes regular public interest luncheons at the Association, which are generally open to members of the Association and their guests, with speakers presenting programs that the Committee believes will be of general public interest.  For more information, visit www.nycbar.org.

ABOUT DAVID R. BAKER

David Baker's practice focuses on corporate matters, including securities, mergers and acquisitions and international law. He has practiced law in New York City with the firms now known as Chadbourne & Parke and Jones Day (retiring as the senior corporate lawyer in Jones Day's New York office) and in Birmingham and currently divides his time between Haskell Slaughter's Birmingham and New York offices. He also serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.  Among his many professional affiliations, he is a member of the International Bar Association and serves as its principal representative to the United Nations in New York. Mr. Baker is a Life Trustee of Birmingham-Southern College and has been a Lloyd’s underwriter for over 20 years.
