BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – February 3, 2011 – Vincent John ("V. J.") Graffeo, an attorney with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, has been recognized as one of Birmingham’s “Top 40 Under 40” by the Birmingham Business Journal. Graffeo, a partner in Haskell Slaughter’s Litigation Practice Group, was honored for his professional achievements and significant contributions to the community and the legal profession.

V. J. Graffeo practices in the area of complex civil litigation. His experience includes working with the firm's securities, class action and derivative litigation team, as well as representing plaintiffs and defendants in other types of civil actions. In addition, he has represented clients in trade secret and non-competition litigation in state and federal courts and is experienced in electronic data discovery issues. Graffeo was named as a "Rising Star" in the 2010 edition of Alabama Super Lawyers. A lifelong resident of Birmingham, he is active in University of Alabama alumni organizations, the Birmingham Inn of Court and the Blackburn Institute. In addition, he serves on the Executive Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section, the Junior Board for Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School, and on the Junior Patrons Board of the Birmingham Museum of Art. Graffeo was a member of the Leadership UAB Class of 2009, and was also honored in 2009 with the NAACP Rising Icon and Leader in Civic Engagement Award and the Birmingham Business Alliance Young Professional Over-Achiever Award. He is a graduate of the 2011 Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum Class.
