Skotnicki, an attorney with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, will be a featured panelist at the Alabama Appleseed Foundation's "High Cost Credit Summit", to be held September 24, 2009 at the Alabama Archives and History Building in Montgomery. Mr. Skotnicki will discuss the need for payday lending reform in Alabama.

ABOUT MICHAEL C. SKOTNICKI
Mike Skotnicki's background includes a variety of complex civil litigation, with a particular focus on appellate matters and class actions. In addition, he has substantial expertise in environmental law, drawing on his background as a licensed professional geologist, registered in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas. Mr. Skotnicki's experience in appellate matters stems from his extensive work with the Alabama Supreme Court, where he served as Law Clerk to Chief Justice Sonny Hornsby in 1993 - 1994 and as Staff Attorney to each of Associate Justices Henry B. Steagall II, Terry L. Butts and Champ Lyons for successive periods during 1994 - 1998. Before beginning his legal career, he worked as an environmental consultant from 1986 - 1990. He is a frequent author and speaker on litigation-related topics. .
