HASKELL SLAUGHTER'S BAKER CHAIRS BBA HISTORY AND ARCHIVES COMMITTEE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - January 8, 2008 - David R. Baker, an attorney with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, has been reappointed as Chair of the History and Archives Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association for 2009.  With over 3,000 members, the BBA is the largest local bar association in Alabama.  For more information, visit http://www.birminghambar.org/.

ABOUT DAVID R. BAKER

David Baker's practice focuses on corporate matters, including securities, mergers and acquisitions and international law. He has practiced law in New York City with the firms now known as Chadbourne & Parke and Jones Day (retiring as the senior corporate lawyer in Jones Day's New York office) and in Birmingham and currently divides his time between Haskell Slaughter's Birmingham and New York offices. He also serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.  Among his many professional affiliations, he is a member of the International Bar Association and serves as its principal representative to the United Nations in New York. Mr. Baker is a Life Trustee of Birmingham-Southern College and has been a Lloyd's underwriter for over 20 years.
