BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - January 6, 2009 - V.J. Graffeo and Anil A. Mujumdar, attorneys with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, have been re-elected to the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Birmingham Bar Association for 2009. V.J. Graffeo practices in the area of complex civil litigation. His experience includes working with the firm's securities, class action and derivative litigation team, as well as representing plaintiffs and defendants in other types of civil actions. In addition, he has represented clients in trade secret and non-competition litigation in state and federal courts and is experienced in electronic data discovery issues. A lifelong resident of Birmingham, Mr. Graffeo is active in University of Alabama alumni organizations, the Birmingham Inn of Court and the Blackburn Institute. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Birmingham Rotaract Club, the Executive Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section and on the Junior Patrons Board of the Birmingham Museum of Art.

Anil Mujumdar concentrates his practice primarily in the area of white-collar criminal defense, where he has represented clients subject to investigation and prosecution for public corruption, environmental crimes, banking fraud and healthcare fraud. Mr. Mujumdar also has extensive experience in class action, labor and employment, shareholder derivative, and False Claims Act litigation. Active in public interest matters, Mr. Mujumdar serves as president of the American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama and as Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee of the North American South Asian Bar Association, among other activities.
