HASKELL SLAUGHTER'S FRANKLIN AND KIRPALANI MAKE GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK PRESENTATION
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - December 10, 2008 - Matthew T. Franklin and Jagdesh B. (Bob) Kirpalani, attorneys with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker, LLC, were featured speakers during Global Entrepreneurship Week, held November 17 - 21 by the Entrepreneurship Club at the University of Alabama. Mr. Franklin and Mr. Kirpalani discussed the entrepreneurial environment and current trends in China and India.
ABOUT MATTHEW T. FRANKLIN
Matt Franklin practices in capital formation, corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance. His work has encompassed firm clients in a variety of industries, including banking, telecommunications, healthcare and biotechnology. Mr. Franklin also has experience in commercial leasing and securities litigation, and has served as underwriter's/placement agent's counsel on a variety of securities offerings. In 2003 - 2004, Mr. Franklin served as a visiting professor at Tianjin Foreign Studies University in China, teaching a variety of business courses. He is actively involved in the development of Haskell Slaughter's international practice in China and India, and has also advised international clients on compliance with United States securities laws and in connection with other business transactions.

Bob Kirpalani's practice is focused on advising entrepreneurs and established businesses on matters relating to international business transactions and economic development, with a particular concentration on Indian companies doing business in the Southeast and domestic companies doing business in India and Asia. Mr. Kirpalani also represents businesses and individuals in immigration matters and white-collar criminal defense. Mr. Kirpalani, a native of India, is fluent in Hindi, Tamil and Sindhi.
