Bert S. Nettles, senior member with Haskell Slaughter, has been recognized by the American Law Institute as a Life Member, a special status membership for members who have achieved 25 years' standing. Nettles will be honored at ALI's 89th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. on May 22, in the State Room of the Mayflower Hotel.
ALI was established in 1923 to promote the clarification and simplification of American common law and its adaption to changing social needs. The ALI drafts, approves and publishes Restatements of the Law, Principles of the Law, model codes, and other proposals for law reform. Membership is limited to a small percentage of judges, lawyers, and legal scholars from a wide range of practice areas, from all areas of the United States and many foreign countries.
