Rebecca Beers represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters.  She joined Haskell Slaughter in 2008 after serving as Law Clerk to Senior United States District Judge William M. Acker, Jr., Northern District of Alabama.

Ms. Beers is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and Washington & Lee University School of Law.  At Birmingham-Southern, she was a member of the Honor Council and also attended the British Studies Program at St. John's College at Oxford University.  In law school, Ms. Beers served as Managing Events Editor of the Washington & Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice and as an Honor Advocate before the Student Judicial Council.  She was also a member of the Virginia Capital Case Clearinghouse, a legal clinic providing research, writing and strategic support for defendants charged with capital murder and their counsel.

In addition to her law practice, Ms. Beers serves as chair of the Birmingham-Southern College Young Alumni Advisory Council and sits on the Birmingham-Southern College Alumni Executive Board.  She also currently sits on the Junior Board of Directors for Urban Ministry, an organization dedicated to providing immediate and long-term assistance for low-income members of Birmingham's West End community.  Ms. Beers is also a member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham and is an active volunteer with Rotaract's Ready 2 Read program and with Birmingham's Homeless Experience Legal Protection (HELP) Program. She was selected to the Birmingham Bar Assocation 2011 Future Leaders Forum and the Birmingham Inn of Court, and has been named to the 2012 Class of Leadership UAB.
