
Mark Edward Ezell
Mark Ezell has acted as bond counsel, issuer's counsel or underwriter's counsel with respect to billions of dollars of financings for state, county and municipal governments and governmental instrumentalities throughout the state of Alabama, including some of the largest and most complex financing transactions in the state. His practice has encompassed general obligation financings, utility financings, education financings and infrastructure financings. He has experience with a wide variety of complex financing structures, credit enhancements and interest rate swap transactions. He has also worked extensively with state and local governments on questions of state constitutional law and federal tax law.
In addition to his public finance practice, Mr. Ezell has played a significant role in public debt and bank financings for corporate issuers. He also has experience in mergers and acquisitions and securities matters. In 2005, Mr. Ezell was recognized for public finance law in the Birmingham Business Journal's inaugural "Best of the Bar" poll, an honor he repeated in 2007. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Public Finance Law) and in Alabama Super Lawyers.
