
James W. Porter III
Jay Porter primarily represents clients in all phases of civil litigation matters. He has extensive experience at both the trial and appellate levels in cases involving a wide spectrum of issues. Mr. Porter joined Haskell Slaughter in 2006 after serving in 2005-2006 as Law Clerk to Senior United States District Judge Robert B. Propst, Northern District of Alabama.
Mr. Porter is a 2005 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and a 2000 graduate of Dartmouth College, where he received an A.B. in Classical Archaeology. At the University of Alabama, Mr. Porter's many activities included serving as a Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review, as a member of the Campbell Moot Court Board, and as Defense Counsel for the Honor Court. Before attending law school, Mr. Porter was a personal fund manager with Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in Boston. Mr. Porter is a former White House intern.
Mr. Porter practices out of Haskell Slaughter's Washington, D. C., office.
