McDowell Crook focuses his practice on civil litigation.  Based in the firm's Montgomery office, he joined Haskell Slaughter in 2006 after graduation from Ohio Northern University College of Law, where he served as an Associate Justice on the Moot Court Board and as coach of the Moot Court First Amendment Traveling Team, along with other trial advocacy and moot court honors. He is also a member of the Alabama State Bar Volunteer Lawyers program.

Before attending law school, Mr. Crook earned an M.A. in English from the University of Alabama.  He served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University and then worked for the Birmingham Post-Herald for over two years as a reporter, copy editor and page designer.
